Default ab mes

here's the template for a very nice mes build for ab, it can take pvp and npcs quite easily, drawback is not self healing, thought it wouldnt be a hard change to the build to make it do so.

That's not too strong, even for a nuker.
Mind Blast with nothing worthwhile to spend it on? :/

Tbh, if you're gonna run that in AB... just roll an ele and do it a thousand times better.

For actual mesmering in AB... [skill]imagined burden[/skill] is sickeningly powerful. People will cry. Seriously, screw people over with Illusion and leave shrine clearing to the eles and dervs.

Yes, the Illusion line is incredibly powerful in AB.

I can't count the number of times an Illusion Mesmer has offed me in AB with [skill]Conjure Nightmare[/skill] and [skill]Imagined Burden[/skill].

The most powerful Mesmer snares are in that line, and Snares are extremely useful in PvP.

There is also the only native running skill for mesmers, [skill]Illusion of Haste[/skill] Though it's not the best, it can save ur arse if you're crippled and trying to get away.

Crippling Anguish or Arcane Languor. Former is good for annoying those melee or touchers, latter is to temporarily shutdown those monks.

Shared Burden on a mob is great fun.

[skill]Crippling Anguish[/skill]

Add some degen, maybe Distortion and you have some very pissed off melee. It is really really fun.

Yah crippling anguish is loads of fun in ab, though I think conjure nightmare is a bunch of crap :P

If you want a decent running skill go me/e with storm djinns haste.

I dont like distortion tbh. people will just wand away your energy. I would go with /E with indeed storm djinns, glyph of lesser energy and clumsiness.

Distortion is for the vast amount of narutards in AB. Losing a few energy is well worth the cost of breaking their chain. Clumsiness also works for it, but it needs to pre-empt the spike, which isn't always as easy as pressing 2 when you see a black cloud.

Power Block is a good one. Had great fun with it just last night. Just be sure to interrupt the right skills. If it's an MM interrupt a death magic spell. If it's an ele interrupting any of their elemental spells does the trick. You get the idea.

I found a simple a Energy Surge Mesmer to be good to play.

Domination 12 + 1 + 1
Inspiration 10 + 1
Fast casting 8 + 1

Energy Surge
Energy Burn
Power Spike
Power Drain
Shame
Diversion (You can use Backfire for more damage)
Shatter Enchantment
Glyph of Lesser Energy

Pretty Simple but effective build, it's not much of a solo capper, but I've never really seen that as a Mesmers place. With a good, balanced team this shut down and extra damage/Spike assistance can work nicely.
